Cinehill Festival rolls out its green carpet in Fužine, creating outdoor movie magic in the fresh air of Gorski Kotar.
The first festival screening starts at 3 p.m. at Cinema Bauer, at the very heart of the festival – the fairytale location Rakov Jarak on the banks of Lake Bajer. Up first is the ecological dystopian feature animation White Plastic Sky, which follows Stefan’s adventure of rescuing his beloved Nora in the distant year 2123, screening in the side program Visions of the Future.

Cinehill also offers a journey through space and time with the help of technology. Thanks to a pair of VR goggles and a selection of hand-picked titles, the most curious visitors will be able to explore virtual reality in a VR balloon, from 3 p.m.
The warm-up for the festival opening takes place at Rakov Jarak at 8 p.m., with a ceremony of burning everything that has weighed us down, in order to start the week full of films, fun, and music entertainment a little lighter.
After lighting the bonfire, at 8:30 p.m., the festival audience and guests will join the opening march along the shore of Lake Bajer to the Damside Theatre, guided by percussion sounds of the collective Drum ‘n’ Bijes from Zagreb and the Feministički Tamburaški Front from Rijeka, which will mark the opening of the festival. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9 p.m. at the Damside Theatre in downtown Fužine with a screening of the suspenseful Swiss drama Late Shift, faithfully portraying the problem of nurse and hospital staff shortages. In their honour, Cinehill offers free admission to this screening for all Croatian nurses.
The evening rounds off with the one and only Darko Rundek and his Eco Quartet. The concert starts at 11:30 p.m. at the Dance Floor in Rakov Jarak, which will be our music stage every evening until Saturday.
