The year is 2123. Faced with increasingly scarce resources, the human race can only survive by compromising – in order to preserve the ecosystem, at the age of 50, every citizen is gradually transformed into a tree. When Stefan discovers that his beloved wife Nora has volunteered to donate her body ahead of time, he embarks on an adventurous journey to save her at all costs. Rotoscope animation and Christopher White’s music construct a poignant ecological-dystopian story of love, sacrifice and climate collapse. The film had its world premiere in the Encounters section at the Berlinale, and received a Special Mention at Animafest Zagreb.
