The good vibes continue! After last year’s great atmosphere and audience response, Cinehill, the successor of the Motovun Film Festival, returns to the Petrinja region, more precisely to the top of Hrastovica Hill. What follows is three evenings packed with film, music and fun, from 5 to 7 July in the beautiful surroundings of the Matija Filjak Mountain Lodge.
The attractive film program consists of one domestic hit and the winners of last year’s first edition of Cinehill in Gorski Kotar. On Friday, the program opens with Seventh Heaven directed by Jasna Nanut, a fun comedy with unexpected twists about marital infidelity and the funny side of the midlife crisis.
A day later, Blaga’s Lessons, a powerful drama by Bulgarian director Stephan Komandarev about a brave woman, a victim of fraud, who tries to take control of her destiny, arrives on the back of the FIPRESCI critics’ Jury Award at last year’s Cinehill. The program will close on Saturday, with the winner of the festival’s main prize, the Cinehill Propeller. Falcon Lake by Canadian director Charlotte Le Bon is a touching story that takes us back to the authentic experience of first love, its magical seductiveness, as well as terrifying destructiveness.
Good movies will of course be accompanied by good music and entertainment. The band Stampedo performs on Friday, while the duo La Papa and Max Juričić, as well as the band Ljetno Kino will perform on the following two days. A special treat will be the Universe Open Championship in film art knowledge with Morana Zibar. The famous TV quiz host and Cinehill ambassador will test the film knowledge of all interested teams in a pub quiz on Saturday.
Entry to all events is free of charge. The program is organized by Cinehill, the Petrinja Croatian House, Croatian Mountaineering Society “Zrin”, the City of Petrinja Tourist Board, and the City of Petrinja.
