This year’s guest of honour, the famous Iranian director, Jafar Panahi, has arrived in Fužine. He attended the Cinehill Festival opening ceremony in good spirits, and, like the rest of the audience, revealed his favourite movie. Tonight at 9 p.m., Panahi will attend the screening of his new title, It Was Just an Accident, at the Summer Art-kino in Rijeka. The screening of his latest Cannes Palme d’Or winner will be followed by a Q&A with the cult Iranian director. On Friday, at the Damside Theatre in downtown Fužine, Panahi will be presented with the honorary Maverick Award, bestowed on the filmmakers whose personality, free spirit and innovation have expanded the horizons of cinematic art. This will be followed by another screening of his latest title, It Was Just an Accident. Cinehill will also be screening two more of Panahi’s classics, The Mirror (Thursday, 1 p.m., Bauer Cinema), and The Circle (Saturday, 1 p.m., Bauer Cinema). Rijeka’s Art-kino will also screen two of his other well-known features – The White Balloon (Thursday, 7 p.m., Art-kino), and Crimson Gold (Saturday, 9 p.m., Art-kino).

The audience will also have the opportunity to meet Jafar Panahi and ask him questions, during the Q&A with our guest of honour, on Friday, at 5 p.m., at Rakov Jarak.
