The German silent film The Sun of St. Moritz (Die Sonne von St. Mortiz), directed by Hubert Moest and Friedrich Weissenberg, turned out to be a musical, as well as a cinematic treat. Yesterday’s screening of the silent film became a boisterous affair, thanks to the musical accompaniment of pianist Cinizia Regensburger, who created an immersive experience for the audience from the start of the film. Without skipping a beat, her piano performance followed the action on screen, breathing new life into the age-old classic. Commenting on the performance, Cinizia remarked, “Every concert is unique because there is always an element of improvisation in it as well.”
