The Cinehill International Film Festival welcomes short films from Croatia, the region, Europe, and around the world—everyone is invited to submit their work for the 27th edition of the festival, which continues the legacy of the Motovun Film Festival in a fresh new setting.
Films can be fiction, documentary, or animated, and must meet the following criteria:
- Maximum runtime: 20 minutes
- World premiere after January 1, 2024
- Screening at Cinehill will be the film’s first public screening in Croatia
A three-member international jury will select the best film, and the winning director will receive a €2000 cash prize.
To support and promote regional cinema, filmmakers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia can submit their films free of charge until March 17, 2025. Submissions are accepted exclusively through FilmFreeway.
The Cinehill Festival will take place from July 23 to 27, 2025, for the third year at its new location in the breathtaking Gorski kotar region, with main screenings held at the Fužine lakes. Additionally, Croatian films in competition will receive a special bonus—premiere screenings as part of Cinehill in Zagreb (August 27 – September 6, 2025), offering an exceptional opportunity for local films to be showcased to Zagreb audiences.
