When on Motovun Film Festival, put Hrvatski telekom's VR goggles on and travel to outer space, visit Bruno Dumont's film set or take a peep under other people's sheets.
Despite Motovun Film Festival's motto ("It was better last year"), there is one thing we did not have last year. You could not experience watching films using VR technology on the past festival editions because public has never before had a chance to use the devices like HTC Vive to experience virtual film reality. Every day of the festival the visitors will have free access to VR cinema and watch ten films using special Samsung VR Gear goggles and the above mentioned HTC Vive provided by the festival's general sponsor Hrvatski telekom.
After you see Bruno Dumont's film Slack Bay in Cinema Billy Tuesday, wouldn't it be interesting to find out how the film was made and experience the film set 360º in the VR interview with its author: Shooting Days – Slacky Bay by Bruno Dumont. Cartoon lovers will be thrilled to see the five-minute animated film Invasion!, the credit for which goes to Eric Darnell, the writer of the script for the well known children's hit Madagascar. Not less impressively made is Sonar, a film of stunning CG animation that takes us to a journey through the universe with a little drone.
Another galactic adventure awaits you in the surrealistic film Irrational Exuberance, intended for room-scale VR screening. You can also watch for free Old Friend, the psychedelic animated video spot by Future Island band shown at Tribeca Film Festival. Or you can have the unpleasant experience of a war by watching Giant – a Sundance hit.
For those of you with guts we have prepared the popular horror series Sisters. You'll be quaking in your boots when you physically enter a haunted house in the virtual reality. Of course, we couldn't possibly miss the genre for which VR technology is like a dream come true: yes, we are talking about adult films. The nudity and sheets in Viens! will definitely capture your imagination. It may even force you to treat yourself with your own VR goggles.
