The superintendent of Auschwitz concentration camp, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig want to create an idyllic life for their family in the house located right next to the camp. The Zone of Interest is one of the films that marked 2023: it won the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes, Oscars for Best International Feature and for Sound, and found its place on almost every ‘best films of the year’ list.
