Val has been a live-in nanny and housekeeper in a well-off family in São Paulo for more than ten years. To Fabinho, her employers’ only son, Val is like a second mother, while she hasn’t seen her daughter Jéssica in years. Jéssica’s arrival to São Paulo for her college entrance exam disturbs the long-established class differences and relations. The film won the Panorama Audience Award at Berlinale.
