Her love is so intense that she could fry his heart, fry it in a pan, and eat it. So goes the dark Istrian romantic folk story echoed in the poem by Livio Morosin, which served as the template for the animated film Piova. Its author is photographer, painter and illustrator Danilo Dučak, one of the key artists of the Croatian and Yugoslav visual scene of the 1970s and 1980s. He spent eighteen years in New York, and currently lives in Motovun.
