In this Venice-premiered exploration of the humanity behind the saintly image of Mother Teresa, Teresa (Noomi Rapace) waits impatiently in Calcutta for the permission to found her own order, dissatisfied with her role as head of the Loreto convent and convinced she is following God’s calling. When the prospect becomes a reality, she must confront the fine line between her own vanity and true faith.
