A powerful drama miniseries of Oscar-winning Danish director Thomas Vinterberg (Another Round, The Celebration, The Hunt) imagines a near-future Denmark facing complete evacuation due to catastrophically rising sea levels. Nineteen-year-old Laura is torn between her divorced parents, a boyfriend, and the choice between privilege and survival, as the country is paralysed by bureaucracy. Vinterberg skilfully depicts a world where the inevitable catastrophe slowly creeps into everyday life, but devoid of the expected spectacle of disaster narratives. The impending calamity is only hinted at, such as puddles in unexpected places, while at first everyday life flows as if everything was in perfect order. The hit series world premiere was held at Venice.
