Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan is a documentary that delves deep into the life of the Irish music icon, best known as the frontman and songwriter of The Pogues, who combined traditional Irish music with the visceral energy of punk rock. The film features never-before-seen archival footage of the band and MacGowan’s family, as well as animations by legendary artist Ralph Steadman. Director Julien Temple’s cinematic tribute to MacGowan features the iconic frontman in celebration of his 60th birthday, where singers, film stars and rock’n’roll outlaws gather to celebrate MacGowan and his legacy. It premiered at the International Film Festival in San Sebastián, where it won a Special Jury Award, and was also screened at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival
