In addition to a rich film program, running 22 to 27 July, the festival also brings a lot of music to the stage by the lake.

In a place where forests merge with the sky and lakes reflect the stars, films and music create an irresistible atmosphere. While Cinehill is well into putting together the film program for its first edition at the new location in Fužine, the festival’s music puzzle is already complete. From 22 to 27 July, the Gorski Kotar idyll at the Fužine lakes will be transformed into a music stage with prominent names from the domestic and international scene.

One of the biggest names on the regional music scene, Darko Rundek, is coming to Fužine with his Eco Quartet. For more than forty years, this measured and gentle rebel has persistently offered a vision of a less greedy, less cold, brighter and freer “third” world. The Rundek Eco Quartet is an open project bringing together different iterations of to-notch creative musicians lending new perspectives on Rundek’s well-known songs.

Also performing by the lake will be Balkalar, a lively world music band from Zagreb boasting a simple philosophy: freedom, love, grappa, dance, song, and celebration of life. The band brings traditional Balkan melodies to life with their unique and euphoric arrangements, guaranteeing an irresistible urge to dance. Their sound, consisting of vocals, double bass, violin, guitar and djembe, invites you to travel through the rich musical tapestry of the Balkans.

Zagreb’s Ki Klop, the winner of the Rock&Off Award for Pop&Off artist of the year, brings its original approach to music to the Fužine lakes. This “disco pop mutant”, as they refer to themselves, represents the new, popular facet of the regional scene, which they’ve conquered with their acclaimed fusion of electro disco, indie pop and post-punk. Ki Klop is known for their intelligent lyrics and music unafraid of bending genre boundaries.

Arriving from Switzerland will be the exceptional pianist and singer-songwriter Cinzia Regensburger. Known for her emotional live acts, this versatile musician blends pop and swing with jazz elements, but on this occasion, she will perform the music accompaniment to the live screening of the silent classic from 1923, The Sun of St. Moritz. In addition to a few other surprises, various DJs will keep everyone dancing until late into the night, including a household name, Mario Kovač. Entry to all music events is free, while the exact times and performance locations will be revealed through the festival’s official channels – at the website cinehill.eu and social media.

The festival is supported by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Kvarner and Gorski Kotar Tourist Boards, and co-organised with the municipality of Fužine.
