A French coming-of-age drama that tackles the topic of growing up in a dysfunctional family in an empathetic and mature way. Max is a funny and plucky 12-year-old boy, who often feels as if he had two families. He spends all his days, both in and out of school, with his friends Tom and Vivian. The three of them are always there for each other, the fantastic three. Meanwhile, Max’s biological family is in complete shambles. With a depressed mother and a brother in jail, his home is neither a place of refuge nor support. When Max’s brother is released from prison, he brings along even bigger trouble.
