A romantic coming-of-age drama directed by Dag Johan Haugerud, Dreams (Sex Love) follows 17-year-old Johanne (Ella Øverbye), who is in love with her French teacher Johanna. Johanne’s intimate diary entry about her crush ignites tensions within her family and confronts her mother and grandmother with their own unfulfilled dreams. The feature is part of Haugerud’s Sex – Dreams – Love trilogy, praised for its authentic and sensitive exploration of human intimacy throughout different stages of life. It premiered at the Berlinale, where it won the Golden Bear, as well as the FIPRESCI and Guild of German Arthouse Cinemas awards.
