Do you know what’s the link between Dušan Vukotić’s The Substitute and Barbie’s Ken? This was just one of many cinematic puzzles set before the 20 teams participating in the trivia quiz in Rakov Jarak, called The Forest Knows and designed by our very own Morana Zibar.

Questions ranged across film, nature, sports, and popular culture, with a dedicated section on Montenegro, this year’s Cinehill partner country. The answers included Milla Jovovich, whose father is of Montenegrin origin, Igor Bezinović’s Fiume o Morte! and Edward Berger’s Conclave, while more often than not the correct answer only emerged after connecting several given clues.

The most successful quizzers crowned their cinema knowledge with prizes in liquid loot – certain to come in handy during the remainder of the festival. The creative team names had us laughing the most, with special congratulations to the winning team: Čuvaj se svinjske ruke!.

The Forest Knows quiz brought together film enthusiasts, lovers of unlikely connections, and especially anyone prone to enthusiastically shouting out the words: “Oh, I know this one, it’s on the tip of my tongue!”
