After six decades spent in Germany, jazz musician Stevan Arsin returns to Serbia to finalize the restitution of his family’s property. A series of encounters with family members, childhood and youth friends, along with navigating the challenges of legal and inheritance complexities, opens an unexpectedly tumultuous new chapter in Stevan’s life. Combining documentary realism and fiction, in collaboration with professional and non-professional actors, the hybrid aesthetic of this film aims to present one of the visions of life for older people in a post-socialist, transnational, and hyper-transactional world. The film premiered in the Forum program at the Berlinale, while it won the FIPRESCI award at the goEast festival.
