Actor Zijah Sokolovi\u0107<\/strong> is this year\u2019s recipient of Cinehill\u2019s 50 Years Award<\/strong>. The honour was presented to him at the festival in recognition of his long-standing contribution to film and theatre and the significant mark he has left on the world of acting.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cFrom 1967, when he appeared in his first roles, to the present day, he has been tireless in front of the camera, on stages, and in every conceivable aspect of the craft\u201d,<\/em> said Igor Mirkovi\u0107<\/strong>, Director of Cinehill Festival. Accepting the award, Sokolovi\u0107 thanked the organisers and expressed how much the recognition means to him. \u201cThis is one of the most beautiful things that can happen to a person in this line of work\u201d, <\/em>said the actor.<\/p>\n\n

The award was presented on behalf of the Croatian Film Authors\u2019 and Producers\u2019 Association <\/strong>(DHFA) by Sandra Botica<\/strong>, who highlighted the richness of his body of work. \u201cIt is an exceptional honour for me to be able to present this award to Mr Zijah Sokolovi\u0107\u201d,<\/em> said Botica, adding that the actor has crafted an impressive career spanning more than 30 feature films and 20 television series.<\/p>\n\n

In honour of this year\u2019s laureate, Cinehill will host a conversation with Sokolovi\u0107, on Thursday at 17:00, as well as a retrospective of his films The Charm of Bureaucracy<\/em><\/strong>, Jasmina<\/em><\/strong>, and The Pavilion<\/em><\/strong>, giving audiences the opportunity to explore in depth his decades-long artistic work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
