Worldwide, there is a chronic shortage of more than 10 million medical professionals. This is precisely the topic of the Swiss feature Late Shift<\/em><\/strong><\/a> set to inaugurate this year\u2019s Cinehill on 22 July in Fu\u017eine<\/strong>. On this occasion, Cinehill wants to express its gratitude and support for all the nurses and medical technicians across Croatia.<\/p>\n\n

All of them will have the opportunity to see the aforementioned Swiss title arriving from the Berlinale, with a free ticket as a token of our appreciation for their dedicated work. The pleasure of watching this film is Cinehill\u2019s way of lending support to all those who selflessly take care of us, even when they are overworked, putting in the hours for all those who are not there.<\/p>\n\n

At the centre of the tense hospital drama is the hardworking and dedicated nurse Floria, played by the brilliant Leonie Benesch<\/strong>, known for The Teacher\u2019s Lounge <\/em>and The White Ribbon<\/em>. Floria covers the late shift at the surgical ward by herself, but despite an increasing workload, she leads the unit with unwavering calmness, bringing warmth and compassion to daily patient care. As the night progresses and the medical emergencies grow more complicated, Floria\u2019s shift turns into an intense race against time. The film by Swiss director Petra Volpe <\/strong>is a sobering look at medical staff shortages and the emotional challenges faced by the medical profession, which premiered with great success at the Berlin International Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n

Cinehill\u2019s advocacy action is realised in cooperation with Switzerland \u2013 the festival\u2019s partner country<\/strong>, with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland and Swiss Film. The festival will also cooperate with the Croatian Nurses Association<\/strong>, an umbrella organisation that brings together twenty professional associations of medical staff, ensuring that the message reaches everyone who deserves it.<\/p>\n\n

In order to claim their free tickets, nurses and medical technicians need to register by sending an email to ulaznice@cinehill.eu<\/a> by 18 July. The application should include their name and location of the institution where they work and the number of their association ID. \n \nEveryone else can get their single<\/strong> tickets<\/strong> for the aforementioned opening film in advance from 8 July<\/strong>, as well as for the entire film program.
