The cheapest tickets for Motovun Film Festival – the favorite summer destination of all film lovers – are now on sale! The festival's 19th edition starts on 26 July. Some 60 screenings will make the silver screens red hot during five festival days. Italy – Partner Country program will include fifteen screenings. Free accommodation at the festival camping site will be provided and good cinematic vibrations will keep spreading far beyond Motovun's medieval walls even after the festival ends on 30 July.<\/p>\n
\tThere is a small town that sees an impressive increase of its population in the last week of every July. It is also the time when positive energy there grows beyond belief, when time stops and when the consumption of great films skyrockets. The town is called Motovun and the reason for all the commotion is Motovun Film Festival. The tickets are now on sale!<\/p>\n
\tThe best way to see some of the sixty or so films at this year's edition of the festival is to buy one of the four sets of tickets affordable for the Motovun crowds and fit for their needs. The ticket set that will hurt your pocket the least is the All for 15 set, because it offers 10 tickets for the films of your choice for only HRK 15 per ticket. As the opportunity to watch ten hit films under the starry sky for HRK 150 expires on 30 June, grab it as soon as possible! Available to you are also Big Set (10 tickets) and Little Set (5 tickets) for the fans of Cinema Trg screenings in the main square. For early birds we have prepared the Morning Set, covering all ten screenings in Cinema Bauer from 10:00 to 14:00. Tickets are already on sale; they can be bought via Ulaznice.hr system or at its sales outlets. Purchase of any of these packages also buys you free accommodation at the festival camping site.<\/p>\n
\tDocumentary about legendary Iggy Pop to premiere at 19th MFF<\/p>\n
\tIf the affordable ticket prices and free camping are not good enough reasons for making your way to the top of our Film Hill, here is another one for you: the screening we can definitely expect to be sold out is the premiere of Gimme Danger (US, 2016), a documentary about legendary Iggy Pop directed by multi-awarded filmmaker Jim Jarmusch. We also have Fire At Sea (G. Rosi, Italy\/France 2016), the winner of Berlinale – a film about the migrant crisis as seen through the eyes of a 12-year-old boy. We should also mention here the unusual comedy-drama Tangerine (Sean Baker, US, 2015), which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Interestingly, it was entirely shot by a cell phone.<\/p>\n
\tThree Italy – Partner Country programs<\/p>\n
\tThe cooperation with Italy as this year's Partner Country has resulted in as many as three programs. The first one is dedicated to five best Italian film directors of today; one film of each will be shown. The films from the very bottom of Italy's "boot" will be introduced in the "Italian South" program. The selection of films in the "Laughing Italy" program will make you burst into tears, as the title implies. None of you will have any problems answering the question "Where were you in 2016?" In Motovun, where else! However, don't let the program of the same title confuse you – it tackles the topical issue of the rise of the right-wing extremism in Central Europe.<\/p>\n
