Eunice and Rubens Paiva and their five children live a modest life by the beach, in a house where the doors are always open, providing a safe haven of warmth and humour against the pervasive repression. Based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva\u2019s eponymous memoir, this historical drama follows Eunice Paiva (Fernanda Torres) as she seeks justice for her husband who is taken away by the military. Amidst the crumbling political situation, Eunice transforms into a determined activist, ready to confront the state apparatus.
