The Clown

Valdemar and Benjamin are father and son who work as clowns, travelling with their circus around Brazil. Despite bringing joy to others, Benjamin feels unfulfilled and starts to doubt his own future. He embarks on a quest for a wife, a stable home, and a fan, armed only with his birth certificate. The film was Brazil’s submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards.
