After convincing her mother to give her money for a goldfish, a traditional symbol of life in Iranian culture, she heads off to the market. Excited about her first outing without her parents, Razieh soaks up the world around her. But when she loses the money, the trip takes an unexpected turn. The White Balloon celebrates childhood innocence, small desires, and human kindness.
