Nominations for the prestigious TV Emmy awards were announced Thursday, 16 July.
Aley Gibney's documentary film Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, disclosing dark secrets of the religion of the rich and famous, was nominated in as many as seven categories: photography, directing, editing, documentary special, sound editing, sound mix and script. The film will be shown in our God, Help Us program.
The multiply-awarded documentary Virunga, which can also be seen in Motovun's Best of Fest program, was nominated for Best Photography and Best Documentary Special.
The TV series Game of Thrones was nominated in 24 categories. This year we will have an opportunity to see three films where stars from HBO's big hit series appear in lead roles: Hannah Murray (Gilly) appears in Bridgend by Jeppe Ronde, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) in The Falling, and Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger) in You're Ugly Too.
