Zagreb, July 6 2011. – We have received 653 applications for Motovun Shorts from all over the world, and our selector Andrej Korovljev has chosen 24 titles to compete for the best one and win a €1.000 prize.
The selection of short films at Motovun Film Festival was transformed last year: 15 minute long films selected by Andrej Korovljev are shown in Motovun and on Iskon.TV, while last year's winner chooses the best film.
This year the short cinematographic jewels will take Motovun audience to Iranian mountains, Istanbul car repair shop, a family picnic in Britain, a back yard in Berlin and a Madrid cemetery. We have films from Croatia, Brazil, China, the Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium, Iran, Spain, Poland, Montenegro, Sweden, USA, two from Serbia and UK, and four from Germany. We will see stories of apocalypse, genocide in Africa, adolescents in Italy, and about a Hong Kong market where virginity is sold for $20, meet a man who lives inside a cat, and one completely see-through woman!
Iskon is the sponsor of Motovun Shorts, and the best one will be chosen by last year’s winner Chris Niemeyer ('Las Pelotas') and receive a prize of €1000. All films in the competition will be available in Iskon.TV videostore.
